Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma had a fun interaction with his fans in Canberra ahead of the much-awaited second Test match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25. Rohit Sharma was surrounded by fans asking for selfies and autographs, and his playful reaction to one of those fans has gone insanely viral on the internet.

For the unversed, the 37-year-old Indian player joined his squad for the Perth Test match. He missed the first Test match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy due to the birth of his second child. Rohit and Ritika became parents for the second time on November 15th.

After joining the team, Rohit played a practice match against the Australian Prime Minister’s XI at the Manuka Oval in Canberra.

Meanwhile, during a moment at the Manuka Oval, Rohit Sharma was surrounded by fans asking for autographs and selfies. The Indian captain interacted with the supporters on the field. A video taken by a fan showed Rohit responding humorously while taking selfies and signing autographs.

While signing a cricket ball, the Indian Test captain was asked for a selfie. Rohit, after the fan kept insisting, humorously replied in Hindi. Amid the busy scene, he jokingly told one fan, “Ek time par ek hi kaam ho sakta hai” (Only one task can be done at a time).

Rohit’s Performance in the Practice Match Against the PM’s XI

During the match against the Prime Minister’s XI, Rohit Sharma batted at number four. KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal continued their strong opening partnership from the Perth Test. However, Rohit had a disappointing performance and was dismissed cheaply after edging a ball outside the off stump.

The Indian team will face Pat Cummins’ Australia in the second Test, a day-night match, at the Adelaide Oval, starting on Friday, December 6.
