The Rohit Sharma led Indian cricket team received a hero welcome as they landed in Delhi from Barbados, five days after winning the T20 World Cup 2024. Hundreds of fans, holding placards and national flags, gathered outside the Indira Gandhi International Airport to welcome the WORLD CHAMPIONS.
On Thursday (July 4th), the Indian cricket team finally returned to New Delhi from Barbados after winning the T20 World Cup 2024. The team was scheduled to leave on Monday (July 1), however, the plan was postponed because of Hurricane Beryl.

They were cocooned in their hotel before the BCCI Secretary Jay Shah arranged a chartered flight, and now the T20 World Cup 2024 World Champions have finally landed in New Delhi to kickstart the celebrations.
With wild chants of “India, India..”, the crowd present at the airport to welcome team India went berserk as the players channeled their inner kids with the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy and gold medals around their necks as they reached the Indira Gandhi Airport on Thursday.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma, vice-captain Hardik Pandya, and batter Suryakumar Yadav shook a leg with the assembled dancers, giving them a memory of a lifetime.
Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya was the first one to emerge and receive a grand welcome by the fans. Followed by him, captain Rohit Sharma came out of the bus carrying the prestigious trophy of the World Cup 2024. The local boy, Virat Kohli, who won the Player of the Match award for his stunning innings in the final match, received the loudest cheers from the fans.
The Indian team was welcomed with the beats of dhol and the players couldn’t control their emotions as they joined the did bhangra with the dancers.

The Indian cricket team left for the ITC Maurya Hotel, where special arrangements were made to welcome the World Champions.
The Men in Blue are scheduled to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 11 a.m. After meeting the Prime Minister, the Indian side will leave for Mumbai on Thursday evening, where they will take part in an open bus road show followed by a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
