RR Beat RCB by 4 wickets Reach the IPL 2024 Qualifier 2

The eliminator match was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals, in which RR defeated RCB by 4 wickets. From Rajasthan’s side, Yashavi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag scored the most runs and got Rajasthan a place in qualifier 2. On May 24, the Rajasthan Royals team will play a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Chennai.

RCB’s top order struggled against the RR bowling attack

Trent Boult did not let RCB score any runs in the initial overs. Virat Kohli scored 37 runs in 24 balls, and captain Faf du Plessis scored 17 runs in 14 balls. The strike rate of both is quite low, and upcoming batsmen like Cameron Green also seem to be in trouble. Ashwin dismissed Green. Mahipal Lomror came in the last over and hit 2 fours and 2 sixes, taking the score of Bangalore to 172.

RR’s Bowlers did Wonders

All the bowlers of Rajasthan took wickets in this match. Boult took 1 wicket, giving only 16 runs in 4 overs, while Avesh Khan took 3 wickets. Ashwin dismissed Matt Green and Maxwell on a golden duck after giving 19 runs in 4 overs, and Yuzi Chahal dismissed Virat Kohli.

Mature inning by Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal

The bowlers who scored the most runs for Rajasthan‘s side were Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag. Both of them handled the inning very well. When wickets were falling from one side, both players kept rotating the strike and reducing the pressure. Yashavi Jaiswal played an important innings with 45 runs in 30 balls, and Riyan Parag scored 36 runs in 26 balls. Finally, Rovman Powell made 16 runs in 8 balls with 1 over remaining and won the match in the name of Rajasthan.

Powell Seals the Win in a Last-Ball Thriller

With the match hanging in the balance, Rovman Powell came to the crease with nerves of steel. He smashed a crucial 16 off just 8 balls, including a last-ball six, to seal a dramatic victory for Rajasthan. Ashwin’s all-round performance (2-19 with the ball and a crucial cameo with the bat) earned him the Player of the Match award.
