Indian-origin batsman Sahil Chauhan, who plays for the Estonian national team, broke Chris Gayle’s record for fastest T20 century on Monday, June 17. He completed his century in just 27 balls and remained unbeaten by scoring 144 runs in 41 balls. He completed his half-century in just 14 balls.
Estonia was playing the second match in the 6-match T20 series against Cyprus. Estonia had to chase the target of 192 runs. Estonia had a very bad start. They lost 2 wickets on just 9 runs and after that, Sahil Chauhan came out to bat at number 4 and single-handedly won the match for Estonia.
Sahil Chauhan started his innings with 6, 4, and 6; after that, he did not look back at the match. He also made the record for most sixes in Men’s T20 in this match. He hit a total of 18 sixes in this inning. Before this, the record of most sixes was in the name of Afghanistan player Hazratullah Zazai. He hit 16 sixes in his innings against Ireland.

Sahil Chauhan also broke Loftie Eaton’s record for the fastest century by scoring a century in 27 balls. He scored a century in 33 balls in international cricket, that too against Nepal.
