Latest addition of Dean Huijsen and Aleix Gracia to the Spain squad

With the latest addition of Dean Huijsen and Aleix Gracia to the Spain squad, now the team is ready to take on Netherlands for the UEFA Nations League for the 1st leg of the quarter finals. In-form Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio was also named in the Spain squad.

Coach Luis de la Fuente unveiled the uncapped Asencio and Huijsen as part of a 26-man squad, with regular centre-backs Aymeric Laporte and Dani Vivian out injured.

Along with Pedri, Alex Baena, Fabian Ruiz, and Mikel Merino, Martin Zubimendi and Aleix Garcia have been called up to play midfield in place of the still-injured Ballon d’Or winner Rodri.

The team, which includes players with a variety of attacking skills including Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal, is captained by Alvaro Morata, who is on loan from Milan to Galatasaray.

The reigning Nations League winner

In the quarterfinals, Spain, the reigning Nations League winner, will play the first leg in Rotterdam on March 20 and the second match in Valencia three days later.

Earlier Inigo Martinez and Marc Casado were named in the 26 man squad for the Spanish National team call-up but had to backout as they have suffered injuries in the game vs Atletico Madrid and won’t be able to play. Inigo Martinez will be undergoing rehab for a week or two, Casado’s injury might see his season end prematurely.
