The Hundred: Which two Indians have the most 50+ scores?

The Hundred kicked off its third season yesterday. The tournament kicked off with the women’s competition as the runner-ups from the previous two seasons, Southern Brave took on the hosts, Trent Rockets. After winning the toss the Rockets sent the visitors to bat first. Their decision to field first quickly backfired as openers Smriti Mandhana and Dani Wyatt stitched up a 65-run partnership. After Wyatt’s dismissal, Mandhana stitched up another 63-run partnership with Maia Bouchier. Smriti Mandhana scored a half-century before being dismissed and is now joint-top at the list for most 50+ scores in the Hundred Women’s competition.

Jemimah Rodrigues

Jemimah Rodrigues has the joint-most 50+ scores in the Hundred Women’s competition. Rodrigues has four 50+ scores. Rodrigues who plays Northern Superchargers scored three fifties in the 2021 season and scored one fifty in the 2022 season.

Smriti Mandhana

Mandhana like her national teammate has four 50+ scores. Mandhana scored two fifties in the 2021 season, one fifty in the 2022 season and yesterday she scored her fourth fifty in the competition. The 27-year-old’s half-century yesterday played a pivotal role in Southern Brave’s win over the Trent Rockets. Her half-century helped the Braves to post 157 in the first innings. The score was too much in the end for the Rockets who only managed 130 in their 100 balls.

Deandra Dottin

Deandra Dotting already has some pretty extraordinary records to her name. The 32-year-old all-rounder was the first woman to score a century in T20 cricket. She scored the first century in women’s T20 cricket in a World T20 match against South Africa in 2010. She also has the joint second-most half-centuries in women’s Hundred. Dottin has scored three half-centuries so far for Manchester Originals. She scored one half-century in the 2021 season and two half-centuries in the 2022 season.

Nat Sciver-Brunt

Another all-rounder appears on the list of most 50+ scores. Nat Sciver-Brunt who plays for Trent Rockets has three half-centuries in the women’s Hundred. In yesterday’s game between Southern Brave and Trent Rockets, she came very close to scoring a fourth half-century as she was dismissed for 49 runs.

Laura Wolvaardt

Laura Wolvaardt plays for Northern Superchargers and also has three half-centuries to her name. She scored one half-century in the 2021 season and two half-centuries in the 2022 season.

Danielle Wyatt

The veteran top-order batter from England has three half-centuries for the Southern Brave. Dani Wyatt scored two half-centuries in the 2021 season and one half-century in the 2022 season.
