The Hundred: Squads, fixtures, streaming details and more

The Hundred is back for another season. Eight men’s teams and eight women’s teams from key cities throughout England and Wales compete in the professional franchise 100-ball cricket competition known as The Hundred. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) oversees the contest. Here is all you need to know about The Hundred 2023.

The Hundred: Format

One-hundred-ball cricket is a variation of limited-overs cricket in which each team plays a single 100-ball inning. Two and a half hours is about how long a game lasts.

Here is the format of the tournament

• 100 balls per innings.
• A change of ends after 10 balls.
• Bowlers deliver either five or 10 consecutive balls.
• Each bowler can deliver a maximum of 20 balls per game.
• Each bowling side gets a strategic time-out of up to two and a half minutes.
• A 25-ball powerplay starts for each team in which only two fielders are allowed outside the 30-yard circle.
• The non-striker must return to their original end after a caught dismissal.
• No-balls are worth two runs and a free hit.
• Slow over-rates are penalised by one fewer fielder being permitted outside the ring for the final over.

The same day and location are used for all men’s and women’s matches. The league stage of the competition consists of 32 total games. Each squad plays eight games—four at home and eight away—with one each against every other team and an additional match against a nearby regional opponent.

The team that wins the league advances directly to the championship game. The second and third-place teams square off in the Eliminator (or semi-final), with the victor advancing to the final match.
