Former Indian cricketer Madan Lal has given a statement on Indian wicket-keeper batter named Rishabh Pant. Madan Lal feels if he was there in high authority then he would have stopped Rishabh Pant from becoming team India’s captain. Madan Lal thinks it is a big deal to become the captian of the Indian cricket team and it is a very big responsibility.

The World Cup winner all-rounder Madan Lal feels Rishabh Pant is too young and has all the time in this world to gain maturity thus BCCI shouldn’t picked him up as captain for the 5-match T20I series against South Africa.

“I would have stopped him from becoming captain. Wouldn’t have allowed it. Because such a player needs to be given this responsibility later. Becoming an India captain is a big deal. He is a youngster. He isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The longer he plays, he will gain more maturity,” said Madan Lal on Rishabh Pant via Sports Tak.

Despite the former Indian thinks Rishabh is too young to become India’s captain, he did well in the series against South Africa as India made a strong comeback after losing first two games. He didn’t bat well, but shown some maturity in bowling changes and field placements.
