Thomas Muller Likely To Exit Bayern Munich

In all likelihood, Thomas Muller is playing his last season at Bayern Munich. The 35-year-old’s contract with the German Giant will expire this summer and talks between the club and the player have not seemed to fructify for his stay.

According to reports, Bayern held negotiations with Müller over the international break to discuss his future. The executive for sport Max Eberl along with Christoph Freund met with Muller for negotiations over his extension. It is learnt that while Muller wants to keep playing, the club wants to give him a role off the pitch. .

Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen also met with Müller, perhaps to talk about a potential front office role. The club is known to have many former players in the business side of things. It is a long tradition that has strongly influenced the style and success of the club. It is no doubt that Müller would be a prime candidate for a role off the pitch.

Muller, who retired from international football last year, has said that he does not plan to hang his boots at club-level.  Teams from the MLS (Major League Soccer) are also said to be interested in him.
