Many big bowlers took part in this tournament, which started in 2008, and some of them created history in it. Who has taken the most wickets in the history of IPL?

  • Yuzvendra Chahal (200 Wickets)

Yuzi Chahal started his IPL career with the Mumbai Indians; after that, Royal Challenge Bangalore included him in their team, where he performed very well; after that, Rajasthan Royals included him in their team in 2022.

Santa Cruz, Trinidad-born Dwayne Bravo is an all-around player who bowls medium seam and bats right-handed. In 2008, he debuted in the IPL. In his 161 IPL games played thus far, Dwayne Bravo has amassed 1,560 runs at an average of 22.61. Along with smashing five half-centuries, he owns the highest IPL score of 70* runs. During his IPL career, Dwayne Bravo has hit 120 fours and 66 sixes. Dwayne Bravo was brought in for the Chennai franchise for Rs 4.40 at the IPL Auction 2022. Bravo’s IPL best career performance is 4/22.

  • Piyush Chawla (182 Wickets)

Piyush Chawla is currently playing for the Mumbai Indians. Apart from the Mumbai Indians, Piyush Chawla has played for the Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Chennai Super Kings.

He played 186 matches and 185 innings, and he has taken 182 wickets in his IPL career.

  • Bhuvneshwar Kumar ( 174 Wickets)

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who made his debut with Pune Super Gains in 2011, is at number 4 in the race for taking the most wickets in the IPL. He has taken 174 wickets in 167 matches. He currently plays for Sunrieses Hyderabad. Bhuvi’s IPL best career performance is 5/19.

  • Amit Mishra (173 Wickets)

Amit Mishra started his IPL career in 2008 with Deccan Charges, while in 2023 his last team was Hyderabad. He played 161 matches in his IPL career and also took 173 wickets. Amit Mishra’s best career performance is 5/17.

Further in this list, there are other big names like Sunil Narine, Ravi Ashwin, and Bumrah who can make some changes to this list in the future.

Yuzi Chahal became the first player to take the most and the first 200 wickets in the IPL. He did this feat in his 153rd match. The amazing thing is that he took his first wicket for Mumbai, and his 200th wicket is against the Mumbai Indians.
