The UCI Road World Championships 2025 is set to bring together the best riders of the world in Kigali, Rwanda. The event will take place from 21 to 28 September, adding to the action-packed month in sports.
This will be the 98th edition of the UCI Road World Championships and the first to be hosted in Africa.
A total of thirteen events are planned, consisting of six road races, six individual time trials, and a team time trial mixed relay. This will be the first year with a standalone women’s U23 race; previously, the U23 winner was simply the highest-placed rider under 23 in the women’s elite race.
The United States have announced their contingent for the UCI Road World Championships 2025. The squad for the Stars and Stripes consists of 23 athletes.
Leading the Elite Men’s squad at UCI Road World Championships is Road Race National Champion and Tour de France “Super Teammate” Quinn Simmons, who made it to a top-10 finish at last year’s World Championships. In the Time Trial, Magnus Sheffield will spearhead the effort after his strong top-15 performance in 2024.
On the women’s side, Time Trial Olympic Bronze Medalist Chloe Dygert will make efforts in the Road Race and Time Trial, both events where she earned World Championship medals just last year.
U23 Women’s Road Race National Champion Ella Sabo is set for the Kigali test, while Time Trial National Champion Cole Kessler will represent the U23 Men at UCI Road World Championships.
Ashlin Barry, who produced an impressive fifth-place sprint finish last year in the Junior category, will be lining up once again for both the Road Race and Time Trial. Junior Women’s National Champion Alyssa Sarkisov will close out her junior career on the world stage in the Road Race.
