UEFA Nations League: Cristiano Ronaldo’s brace help Portugal beat Switzerland by 4-0

Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals for Portugal against Switzerland on Sunday night.

Manchester United No.7 Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace in Portugal’s 4-0 victory against Switzerland in UEFA Nations League on Sunday night, 5th June. After Portugal drew their last game against Luis Enrique’s Spain and both the teams walk away with a point each, this was their first win in the UEFA Nations League 2022.

The first half sees three goals. Portuguese midfielder William Carvalho started the scoring in the 15th minute. Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first goal in the 35th minute which made Portugal lead by 2-0. Four minutes later, Ronaldo completed his brace with a wonderful goal. Portugal was leading the game in both halves.

Manchester City right-back Joao Cancelo scored the fourth and the last goal of the game in the 68th minute. It was a beautiful assist by another City player Bernando Silva. Portugal won this game with ease as they had 18 shots on Switzerland’s goal.  Whereas, it was a poor game for Switzerland as they had only 5 shots out of which only one was on target. Ronaldo was named man of the match for the two goals he scored in the game.
