10 Great Ideas WWE Should Have Said No To

The “best of the best” is something that wrestling fans always hope will be presented on television, but that is not always the case. Sometimes we wish that those who weren’t used were the ones who were shown to us.

  •  Paul and Katie’s Romance

Unfortunately, some members of WWE Management don’t share the  sentiment that racism should be excluded entirely but they have approved a relationship between Paul Burchill and his on-screen sister Katie Lea Burchill. Despite playing brothers and sisters in the role, Paul and Katie were asked to imply that they were dating when sharing the screen.

  •  Invasion

Due to WWE’s decision to hot-shot the biggest potential storyline in professional wrestling history, which resulted in them completely messing up with The Invasion, the angle might have been a big hit if it featured more bankable WCW stars. Fans will always view the Invasion as such a missed opportunity, even though the idea itself is not a bad one.

  • Hulk Hogan winning the championship

Hulk Hogan, would not, under any circumstances, refuse to compete for the WWE Championship. Bret Hart ultimately lost the championship to Yokozuna in the WrestleMania IX main event, paving the way for Yokozuna to have a successful career as a top-tier heel.

However, this was only true up until Hulk Hogan showed up following the conclusion of the match to challenge Yokozuna to a Championship match, which he ultimately won.

  • Donald Trump’s argument

WWE aired a widely publicized segment on RAW featuring two look-alikes arguing  live in an effort to capitalize on the public feud between Donald Trump and Rosie O’Donnell.  The angle was derided by live audiences because it had no business being used in a wrestling ring.

  •   Muhammad Hassan’s attack

Some claim that this angle was in poor taste, while others claim that it was poorly timed. I believe it to be both, Although it was a taped program that might have been edited, WWE ran an angle involving Muhammad Hassan and The Undertaker that involved men in ski masks wielding various weapons that appeared to attack.

As a result of this incident, which received widespread media coverage, several networks demanded that the Hassan character be taken off television. This was because the segment had been broadcast shortly after the 2005 London bombings. Someone ought to have given the sensitivity surrounding the topic some thought before airing this angle.

  • Hornswoggle became GM

Fans were impatiently waiting for them to be revealed after more than a year of RAW being run by the “anonymous General Manager,” who would communicate by blinking the arena lights and sending an e-mail to a laptop close to the announcer’s desk.

There were many names bandied about as potential candidates for the position, However, when it was finally revealed that Hornswoggle would be the GM, it was a huge disappointment.

  • Katie Vick and Kane’s affair

Kane and Katie Vick dated each other and they also had a car accident.

Insinuating that “the deed” only occurred after the accident, Triple H has revealed some ugly secrets about Katie Vick and Kane.

We all hope that the angle is gone from our collective memories as wrestling fans despite being widely condemned as offensive and ridiculous.

  • Al Wilson and Dawn Marie ought to have said “no.”.

We can’t pretend that if we were in Al Wilson’s position and asked to take part in this disaster of a storyline, we would decline, but the unfortunate fact is that this storyline is a complete blot on WWE’s record because it was so poorly executed.  Dawn Marie used Torrie Wilson’s “real life” father as a psychological weapon against her, even going so far as to wed him live on SmackDown.

  •  Hired wrestlers

The WWE hired wrestlers to continue acting as their characters, Diesel and Razor Ramon, after Kevin Nash and Scott Hall switched sides and joined WCW in the mid-1990s.Fans started to harshly criticize the plot,  for several months, the “fake” wrestlers performed as a tag team.

  •  The Worst Gimmick Of The Attitude Era

There have been two incest storylines in WWE history. Beaver Cleavage, a man-child with allusions to the 1960s television program Leave it to Beaver, appeared for a brief time in 1999 and was played by Charles Warrington. The character itself is not necessarily a bad idea, but the presence of Beaver’s mother, a curvaceous woman portrayed by Canadian bodybuilder Marianna Komlos, who was always by his side, added a chill to the narrative.

The angle was heavily criticized by critics and fans.
