If you’re an F1 enthusiast, we are sure you have heard about the upcoming F1 Movie 2025 starring none other than Brad Pitt and Damson Idris. The movie has been in the limelight ever since its announcement due to the anticipation of fans. However, it has managed to get even more buzz after the special screening that was held on 22 May 2025 and attended by real F1 drivers of this season, many of whom made their debut in this movie.
The movie is set to hit the theatres internationally on 25 June 2025, days before the Austrian Grand Prix. It’s directed by Joseph Kosinski, who also directed Top Gun: Maverick and is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and our very own F1 star, Lewis Hamilton.
The Special Screening Of F1 Movie 2025
The cinema fever reached its climax as the ream F1 grid attended the special pre-release screening of F1 Movie 2025 in Monaco, ahead of the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix 2025. It was a rare opportunity for the sport’s elite to see themselves and their world reflected through a Hollywood lens. Many drivers also made cameos in the film, blurring the line between fiction and reality.

Lewis Hamilton, who played a significant role in film production, said, “I was sat in the middle, and I was nervous,” Hamilton shared. “It was great to look around and see some of the reactions from, particularly, the drivers. I really care what the drivers think, and I wanted them to think highly of it”
Carlos Sainz also expressed his excitement and said, “Honestly, I enjoyed the whole thing. There were things that really surprised me… the quality of footage they got. It’s insane. Honestly insane. That’s for me the best part of all of it. The team have done an outstanding job in putting together a very good Hollywood movie”
Haas rookie Oliver Bearman said, “I think it really depicts in a great way what we go through, in a bit of a Hollywood way as you would expect, but that makes it really interesting. I think the goal of the movie is going to be achieved. I think it’s going to be a huge hit and it’s going to make people want to watch F1, which is really the goal of it”
“Hollywood” Exaggerations, Some Drivers Critique
While some drivers were all praise for the F1 Movie 2025, some drivers also pointed out the inevitable “Hollywood” exaggerations.
Drivers like Nico Hulkenberg said, “Look, it’s a movie, it’s Hollywood as well. It’s more, you need to take a step back and see the broader picture, it’s not about the fine details that everything is accurate.”
Esteban Ocon went into more detail and emphasised Hamilton’s influence on the F1 Movie 2025 script. He said, “I really see where Lewis has put his touch to manage to try and make everything as realistic as possible. You can really feel that Lewis has pushed to keep it super realistic. But there were some parts that they needed to make it a little bit more Hollywood, which is obviously for all the public and needs to be catching the eye of everyone.”
The special screening of F1 Movie 2025 in Monaco has set the stage for what many drivers believe could be the most impactful narrative of any racing movie ever made. It’s set to release on 27 June 2025, so pre-book your tickets now and experience the ultimate racing thrill.
