Michael Chandler confirms talks with WWE and Triple H, may soon enter the wrestling ring after UFC
UFC Lightweight fighter and former Bellator Champion Michael Chandler has clearly confirmed that he is having direct talks with WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H about joining WWE. This came out when he spoke about it during an interview with The Schmo Show at Fanatics Fest in New York City.
Chandler said that entering WWE is part of his future plans and he is personally a fan of Triple H and WWE. He also shared that WWE appreciates his personality and mic skills. He said both sides want to keep this opportunity open.
He said these exact words:
“I was talking to WWE, talking to Triple H about my WWE contract. So we’re trying to make that happen. He knows I’m a fan of WWE and him and the brand.
He’s obviously a fan of what I bring to the table from an entertainment standpoint, what I can do on the microphone. So it’s always fun conversations. Who knows if anything is ever going to happen, but he knows I want that door to be open and I think he wants that door to be open too.”
Chandler has already appeared on a WWE show
This is not the first time Michael Chandler has been linked with WWE. On the 19 February 2024 episode of Monday Night Raw, he was seen sitting in the crowd and from there he called out Conor McGregor. That was his first WWE appearance.
There was a fight planned between Michael and Conor in UFC 303, but it got cancelled because Conor got injured. After that, people believe this is the right time for Chandler to move to WWE.
Chandler had a strong UFC start but has struggled recently
When Michael Chandler joined UFC in 2021, he defeated Dan Hooker in his first fight. After that win, he got a title shot against Charles Oliveira. He lost that match but it was a close and competitive fight.
After that, his performance has not been consistent. He only won one fight, against Tony Ferguson, who was also on a losing streak at that time. In his latest match, Chandler lost to Paddy Pimblett, which made many fans question his future.
Chandler can now take his skills to a new level in WWE
Michael Chandler always had an explosive style in UFC. He is not just about fighting in the octagon, he is also confident on the mic. These qualities make him a good fit for WWE, where personality and presence are just as important as fighting.
