Dhruv Jurel Breaks Silence on Rajasthan Royals Captaincy Rumors: Young Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel has finally spoken up about the rumors linking him to the next captain of Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL.

With speculation rising over Sanju Samson’s possible exit from the franchise, Jurel’s name has been doing the rounds as a potential replacement.

But the 24-year-old has made it clear that he isn’t chasing titles or positions. For him, Rajasthan Royals are more than just a team – they’re the franchise that gave him the platform to showcase his talent in the IPL.

“I Want To Give 2000% For Rajasthan Royals” – Dhruv Jurel

Jurel explained that his dedication won’t change, no matter what role the Royals assign him.

Speaking on Breaking Sports’ YouTube channel, he said:

“What I would say is that whatever role I get from Rajasthan Royals doesn’t matter, because they gave me an opportunity when I especially needed it, when I had to show my talent on a big platform.

I would say Rajasthan Royals changed my life. They gave me the chance to showcase my ability. So, it doesn’t matter whether I get the captaincy or not. From my side, I want to give 2000% for Rajasthan Royals.”

Jurel’s Dream: Winning the IPL Trophy

More than captaincy, Jurel has his eyes set on lifting the IPL trophy with the Royals. He believes the squad has the right mix of young talent and experience to go all the way next season.

“I want to win the championship. Me, Riyan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Sanju Bhai all feel the same way, and we have the potential to do it. So, our thought process always revolves around how we can win the championship. Whoever becomes captain, our goal is the same: we want to win the championship. And for that, we will do whatever it takes.”

Jurel’s Impact Since His IPL Debut

Since breaking into the IPL in 2023, Dhruv Jurel has quickly become one of RR’s most promising young stars. In just 42 matches, he has scored 680 runs at a strike rate of 153.84, earning praise for his fearless batting and maturity beyond his years.
