The U19 World Cup 2026 Super Six and play-off matches saw one-sided victories for England, Sri Lanka, and USA. The day was filled with outstanding bowling performances, successful run chases, and individual brilliance.
U19 World Cup 2026: England Overpower Bangladesh in Super Six Clash
England kicked off their Super Six campaign with a resounding victory over Bangladesh at the Queens Sports Club, winning the match by seven wickets.
England Bowlers Run Riot
After Bangladesh decided to bat, the England bowling unit restricted them throughout the innings. The initial damage was caused when Sebastian Morgan picked the first wicket in the third ball of the match. Although Rifat Beg and Mohammad Azizul Hakim Tamim scored 46 runs for the second wicket, the Bangladesh batting lineup fell apart after Beg got out.
- Bangladesh were bowled out for 136 in 38.1 overs
- Sebastian Morgan was the star with 3 for 28
- Manny Lumsden and Ralphie Albert took two wickets each
- Only Mohammad Abdullah could surpass 20 runs, except Beg.
Thomas Rew Guides Comfortable Chase
England’s response began with a setback in the form of the early loss of Joseph Moores, but Ben Dawkins’ smooth 26 helped to stabilize the innings. Captain Thomas Rew then took charge, leading a decisive 78-run partnership with Ben Mayes.
Rew remained unbeaten on 59 off 50 balls, which led England to a victory within 25 overs and put them on the way to the semifinals of the U19 World Cup 2026.
U19 World Cup 2026: Sri Lanka Edge Afghanistan in Tense Encounter
The chances of Sri Lanka reaching the semifinals are still alive as they won a tough match against Afghanistan by four wickets at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek.
Afghanistan Post Competitive Total
Afghanistan struggled on a tough wicket but still managed to post 193/10 in 49.5 overs. Opener Osman Sadat held the innings together with a fighting 61, while Azizullah Miakhil and Roohullah Arab gave the team some late momentum.
Sri Lanka’s bowlers were on target with their lines:
- Viran Chamuditha and Kugathas Mathulan took two wickets each
- Heenatigala Holds Nerve in Run Chase
However, the chase for Sri Lanka was not an easy task as they lost wickets at regular intervals. The partnerships of Dimantha Mahavithana (37) and Senuja Wekunagoda (43) were crucial in keeping Sri Lanka in the match before Chamika Heenatigala came up with the match-winning performance.
Heenatigala, who had taken 1 for 19 earlier, remained unbeaten on 22 to help Sri Lanka win the match with 19 balls to spare and was awarded the Player of the Match award.
U19 World Cup 2026 Playoff: USA Cruise Past Scotland
In the 16th-place playoff of the U19 World Cup 2026, USA registered a comprehensive victory over Scotland by seven wickets at Harare Sports Club.

Batting first, Scotland scored 236 all out, with Theo Robinson scoring an impressive 83. Manu Saraswat added 41 to the total, but the USA bowling attack, led by Ritvik Appidi’s scintillating 4 for 54, made sure that the scoring was kept in check.
Adnit Jhamb’s Century Secures USA Victory
USA, in pursuit of 237, were led by an outstanding unbeaten century from Adnit Jhamb. His 116 off 93, with 17 fours and a six, tore apart the Scottish bowling attack.
