The 2026 Japanese Grand Prix takes place at Suzuka Circuit, one of the most challenging tracks in Formula 1. The circuit is about 5.8 km long and is famous for its unique figure-eight design, where one part of the track passes over another using a bridge.

Suzuka has fast corners like the S Curves that test driver skill and car balance. Corners such as Degner and Spoon require precision, while the 130R corner is one of the fastest turns in Formula 1. The final chicane creates good overtaking chances before the main straight, making races exciting and unpredictable.

The Suzuka Circuit, which will be used in the 2026 Japanese Grand Prix, was planned by Soichiro Honda in the late 1950s and opened in 1962 as a Honda test track designed by John “Hans” Hugenholtz. The track has been updated many times to improve safety and racing, including adding the Casio chicane in 1983 and changing corners like Degner and 130R. After Jules Bianchi’s 2014 accident, safety standards were improved further. Suzuka can run in five different track layouts.
