Sakib Hussain, a fast bowler from Bihar of only 21 years of age, attracted attention throughout season 2026 of the IPL after being given his opportunity to play for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) within a match against the Rajasthan Royals in Hyderabad.

With an acquisition cost of Rs 30 lakh Sakib began his first match of the IPL season 2026 remarkably well by getting Yashasvi Jaiswal out with his first ball in his first over. At the end of this match, he had completed 4 overs and recorded figures of 4 wickets for 24 runs (4/24), thereby helping the SRH record a comfortable victory of 57 runs.

Sakib came through the ranks of domestic cricket to finally arrive at the IPL, and he is a right-handed bowler who bowls at medium pace.

His main two bowling determinants are the swing he creates and how well he can control the trajectory of the ball. Because he is so young, he has made some very impressive performances, which is why he has now been on the selectors’ radar.
