The 19th season of IPL 2026 has finally entered the knockout stage. After the high-voltage Qualifier 1 clash between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Gujarat Titans (GT), it’s time for the Eliminator, which is set to be played between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Rajasthan Royals at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA Stadium in Mullanpur. 

IPL 2026 Eliminator – SRH vs RR

SRH dominated RR this season with two wins. SRH won by 57-runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, while securing a commanding 5-wicket win over RR at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The Riyan Parag-led side will be keen to bounce back and take revenge for the two defeats they faced against the Pat Cummins-led side this season.

SRH’s IPL 2026 performance

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a very compelling and destructive season in IPL 2026, with nine wins from 14 matches. SRH showcased an all-round performance and ended the league stage at the third spot with 18 points. Three SRH batters – Heinrich Klaasen, Ishan Kishan, and Abhishek Sharma are part of the top 10 leading run-scorers list this season. Klaasen ranks third on the orange cap list with 606 runs, followed by Ishan Kishan, who has scored 569 runs in 14 matches. Meanwhile, Eshan Malinga and Sakib Hussain led SRH’s bowling attack with 19 and 15 wickets respectively.

RR’s IPL 2026 performance 

Rajasthan Royals started their IPL 2026 on an impressive note, but struggled in the middle of the season. However, they made a solid comeback and ended the league stage in fourth spot with 16 points from 8 wins. 15-year-old sensation Vaibhav Sooryvanshi played a crucial role in RR’s playoff qualification journey, as he has scored a total of 583 runs across 14 matches, laced with one century and three half-centuries, followed by wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel, who amassed 458-runs, laced with five half-centuries. Meanwhile, Jofra Archer and Brijesh Sharma picked up 21 and 13 wickets respectively.

Eliminator: New Chandigarh Stadium Pitch report

Talking about the New Chandigarh Stadium, the pitch is known for favoring the batters. This venue has hosted a total of four matches in IPL 2026, and all of them have been a high-scoring clash, as out of eight innings, six times the batting side has crossed the 200-plus target, which highlights the batting-friendly nature of the venue. Although the team that will win the toss will look to bat first and post a massive total, but keeping in mind the nature of the pitch the captains might go for chasing.

New Chandigarh Stadium stats

In a total of 15 IPL matches, the team opting to bat first has won 40% time, while the team opting to bowl first has emerged victorious 60% of time. Highest total registered at this venue is 254, which was scored by the Punjab Kings against the Lucknow Super Giants, while the lowest total at this venue is 95 scored by the Kolkata Knight Riders while chasing a total of 111 against Punjab Kings.

In an IPL 2026 clash between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals, RR chased down a total of 228, which is also the highest chased target at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA Stadium in Mullanpur. 

In last 10 matches this pacers have managed to pick 69 wickets, while the spinners have picked up 45 wickets, which proves the pitch at Mullanpur favours the pacer more compared to the spinner.

Talking about the weather in Mullanpur for the SRH vs RR IPL 2026 Eliminator, it is expected to be hazy sunshine, scorching temperature around 43°C, and extremely dry conditions with just 11% humidity. Happy news for the fans is there is no rain threat, with a 0% chance of precipitation.
