Hat-tricks are usually seen as the yardstick for measuring a bowler’s performance. Since IPL 2021 is around the corner, here is the list of all the bowlers that were able to get the stumps flying 3 times in a row.
2008 (L. Balaji, Amit Mishra, Makhya Ntini)
Lakshmipathy Balaji from CSK became the first bowler in the history of IPL to take hat-trick in 2008 against Kings XI Punjab which was followed by two more hat-tricks from Delhi Daredevils Amit Mishra picking up one against Deccan Chargers.
Makhaya Ntini, representing Chennai Super Kings went on to get a hat-trick against Kolkata Night Riders same season.
2009 (Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma)
The 2009 season saw Rohit Sharma and Yuvraj Singh taking hat-tricks. Yuvraj Singh picked up 2 hat-tricks this season against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Deccan Chargers.
Rohit Sharma surprisingly picked up a hat-trick against Mumbai Indians ,a team which he would later go on to captain and win titles with.
2010 (Praveen Kumar)
Praveen Kumar playing for RCB picked up the only hat-trick of the 2010 IPL. Against Rajasthan Royals.
2011 (Amit Mishra)
Amit Mishra picked yet another hat-trick against Kings XI Punjab, this time playing for Deccan Chargers.
2012 (Ajit Chandila)
Ajit Chandila, playing for Rajasthan Royals, sealed a berth for qualification by picking up a hat-trick against Pune Warriors India. He was later charged for spot-fixing.
2013 (Sunil Narine, Amit Mishra)
Sunil Narine took a hat-trick for Kolkata Knight Riders against Kings XI Punjab.
Amit Mishra representing Sunrisers Hyderabad, picked up his third hat-trick of the IPL against Pune Warriors India.
2014 (Pravin Tambe, Shane Watson)
Rajasthan Royals leg-spinner Pravin Tambe picked up an important hat-trick to against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Shane Watson picked up the second hat-trick of the season against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
2016 (Axar Patel)
Axar Patel took four wickets in five balls including a hat-trick to help Kings XI Punjab beat Gujarat Lions.
2017 (Samuel Badree, Andrew Tye, Jaydev Unadkat)
Samuel Badree’s picked up a hat-trick against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Andrew Tye picked up a hat-trick for Gujarat Lions against Rising Pune Supergiant. Jaydev Unadkat took the third hat-trick of the season against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
2019 (Sam Curran, Shreyas Gopal)
Sam Curran picked up the first hat-trick of the 2019 season to help Kings XI Punjab beat Delhi Capitals.
Shreyas Gopal picked up the hat-trick, against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
No HAT-TRICKS Were Taken in 2015,2019 and 2020 seasons.
