Canada bagged four medals on the third day of Olympics in Beijing.

Snowboarder Max Parrot started by winning gold in the men’s slopestyle. He has again topped his more heralded Canadian teammate Mark McMorris, who took his third consecutive bronze in this event.

“Three years ago, I was laying down in a hospital bed with no energy, no muscles, no cardio,” Parrot said. “Today, I’m an Olympic gold medallist and I did the biggest run of my life.” he added.

In women’s hockey, the game last night was delayed by more than an hour because COVID-19 test results for the Russian team, which had six of its members placed in isolation last week after they had tested positive, were not available in time. As a result of which, the teams agreed to play with their masks on. The test results had finally arrived by the second intermission, but Canada’s players continued wearing their masks but the Russians did not do so. Canada had an easy win, 6-1.
