The Indian cricket team is in Dubai for the Asia Cup 2022, starting on August 27. The Rohit Sharma-led side will begin its campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on August 28. Ahead of the big clash, former Indian captain and star batter Virat Kohli met Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam.

The 27-year-old Pakistan cricketer is one of the top batters in world cricket and earned the tagline, ‘Pakistan’s Virat Kohli’ with his consistent show. The Pakistan skipper, known as Mr Dependable, scores run consistently and wins fans from across the world.

It was a special sight to see two modern greats spending time with each other. Even though the meeting lasted only a few seconds, it brought in some warmth and affection ahead of the big clash. Both Virat and Babar admire each other’s batting and have revealed their respect for each other in press meets.

No India- Pak clashes

Virat and Babar meet only during ICC events because India does not play bilateral series anymore with the Pakistan team. Meanwhile, no bilateral matches are taking place for the next five years between the two countries.

However, Pakistan and India might face each other three times, if they reach the final in the Asia Cup. Virat Kohli has been in sedate form for his standards for around three years now. He will have a point to prove as he meets Pakistan.

The Indian star enjoys a great record against the arch-rivals. Some of his best knocks, including his career-best ODI score of 183, came against the Pakistani side. As a result, former cricketers and fans expect the Indian superstar to come good and silence his critics in the Asia Cup.
