The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced it’s annual player retainership on Thursday. In this annual contract which is valid from October 2020 to September 2021 BCCI listed a total of 28 players.
The list is divided into four grades , i.e. Grade A+, Grade A, Grade B and Grade C.
The payment structure of different Grades goes like this:
Grade A+: INR 7 Cr
Grade A: INR 5 Cr
Grade B: INR 3 Cr
Grade C: INR 1 Cr
BCCI retrained 3 players for Grade A who will get 7-7 crore this year. It is to be noted that this grade pay is different from the match fee.

Now let us have a look at the list of players retained for different grades.
Grade A+: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah
Grade A: R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and Hardik Pandya
Grade B: Wriddhiman Saha, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shardul Thakur, and Mayank Agarwal
Grade C: Kuldeep Yadav, Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar, Shubman Gill, Hanuma Vihari, Akshar Patel, Shreyas Iyer, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Mohammad Siraj
It is to be noted that BCCI shuffled many players within the list among different grades. Unlike last year the names of Kedar Jadhav and Manish Pandey were not mentioned in the list by BCCI.
