Best Storyline of WWE and the Overview
Get to know which storylines have proven to be the best for WWE and the growth of the games over time. Read to know about the matches.
Although I believe that realism that the audience can relate to is the foundation of a great story, are there any exceptions? What professional wrestling events have you seen that you would rank among the best? We’ll see that the matches don’t necessarily need to be excellent as long as they end successfully. Below is our list:
The Beginning
1997–1998’s The Brothers of Destruction: This story may be WWE’s best and most inventive work in their fantastical universe, spanning the intriguing backstory of Undertaker’s arson murder that left Kane scarred, the escalating conflict between Taker and Paul Bearer, Kane’s debut at Badd Blood: In Your House, and the blazing conclusion in an Inferno match.
The Anti-Corporate Rebel, CM Punk (2011): Punk gave a record-breaking promo after Raw on June 27, 2011. He expressed his feelings about the organization he works for from the bottom of his heart while voicing his complaints live on TV. He attacked everyone for continuing to support and invest in a project that didn’t care about him in any manner, including John Cena, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Triple H, Vince McMahon, and the fans themselves. Punk was a man with nothing to lose and everything to gain, so Cena, the franchise player and company man, tried to stop him before he went too far. However, Punk was a man with nothing to lose and everything to gain, so he succeeded.
Their weeks-long promos culminated in Money in the Bank, maybe the most well-planned pay-per-view in WWE history, where Punk left the company and became the champion of his hometown.
Kenny Omega’s Vision Quest: After becoming the first foreigner to win the G1 Climax, Kenny Omega was scheduled to face Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom 11 for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, and what would transpire there would forever alter professional wrestling. Kenny swinging with all his strength to hit Okada with the One-Winged Angel and Okada finding a way out EVERY time before laying Kenny down with a final Rainmaker allowed us to watch one of the most competitive professional wrestling battles ever.
But Okada was aware that he might very well lose this battle. Fast forward to Dominion, where Okada narrowly escaped loss by a rope break despite failing to overcome the tenacious Omega in an hour. In what seemed to be a lopsided contest, Kenny overcame Okada in their third match by moving quickly. Many people consider their fourth and last encounter to be the greatest professional wrestling bout of all time because it saw Kenny ultimately defeat Okada and win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, capping off one of the greatest wrestling tales ever.
Vince McMahon versus “Stone Cold” Steve Austin: It should be obvious. The finest narrative in the annals of professional wrestling. An angry redneck blue-collar worker who will do anything to avoid working for the corporation because of his abhorrent white-collar employer. The greatest babyface and heel of all time came from this tale, which is the tale of America in professional wrestling.
