COVID-19: Ravichandran Ashwin urges people to get vaccinated and offers to give away N95 masks

Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin came forward to help people in these testing times against COVID-19. Ashwin took to Twitter for informing people about how important it is to maintain a safe distance from one another and also not to wear cloth masks.

Ashwin called for staying safe, he took to Twitter and wrote, “I urge everyone going to get their vaccine shot to keep a safe distance from one another and double mask. (no cloth masks pls). The very point of getting a vaccine is to fight this deadly virus, let’s not make that hopeful idea into a cluster. #COVID19India.”

 On one users plight of not able to afford a N95 mask, Ashwin offered to buy them and enquired about different channels to distribute them.

Tamil Nadu-born cricketer left IPL midway (April 26th) to take care of his family who was fighting it out as numbers in India worsen day by day.

Prithi Narayanan, Ashwin’s wife disclosed that ten of Ashwin’s family members- six adults and four children- were tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

Spinner also tweeted about COVID-19 being within touching distance to his family on April 16th. Urging people to take precautions and stay safe.  tweeting about the same, he wrote – “All I can say right now!! We are all spoiling towards ….day. The virus is right at my doorstep, it will be at yours tomorrow,” he tweeted. “Let’s try and follow best practices and my sincere prayers,” he added.
