Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik has been named mentor and batting coach of the London Spirit men’s team at The Hundred. It will be his first support-staff role with a franchise outside the IPL and extends his involvement in global cricket beyond player and broadcaster.

Dinesh Karthik Background and Experience
Forty-year-old Dinesh Karthik had a long, eventful international career that lasted 18 years. The wicketkeeper-batter has played 26 Tests, 94 ODIs, and 60 T20Is for India.
He has also played for several franchise T20 leagues, most notably in the IPL, for franchises such as the Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Since retiring from playing in the IPL in 2024, Karthik went back to being a commentator-mentor and was with RCB in this season of the IPL.
Besides his commitments in the IPL, Karthik is currently involved with Sharjah Warriorz in the UAE-based ILT20 and is very much active in the franchise T20 circuit.

Speaking about his new role, Dinesh Karthik said, “When I heard about the plans and ambitions of Mo, MCC, and the Tech Titans I was really enthusiastic to join. The opportunity to spend an English summer working at Lord’s is a dream come true personally. It is the ground where I made my debut for India, and also played my last Test match. Lord’s holds a special place in my heart.”
