Indian cricket team won the first T20I against England by a huge margin of 50 runs on Thursday night at Southampton. The match was pretty one-sided as it was an all-round performance from Rahul Dravid’s men with bat and ball as well. India posted a huge total of 199 on the board for Jos Buttler’s England team. England could only reach 148 and didn’t even complete their 20-over quota.
Indian bowlers bowled out English batters on 148. This win set a new record for skipper Rohit Sharma. Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma became the first captain to win 13 successive matches in T20Is. The win against England in the first T20I was his 13th. Rohit Sharma also reached another milestone in this particular game. He completed 1000 runs in T20I as Indian captain. Rohit was back in the team after COVID-19. Due to which, he couldn’t feature for team India in the last rescheduled Test match against England at Edgbaston.
But, Rohit Sharma has announced his comeback in style as India won the game and are leading the three-match T20I series by 1-0. The next T20I between India and England will be played on Saturday, 9th July at Edgbaston.
