Indian cricket team head coach Rahul Dravid opened up about Rishabh Pant who was named captain of the Indian team in the 5-match series against South Africa. Rishabh Pant’s batting form was a concern for the fans and some ex-cricketers.

Rishabh Pant didn’t score a single half-century in the series against South Africa. Rishabh Pant was amazing with his captaincy, field placements, and bowling changes. But his poor batting form raises questions about his selection to the Indian cricket team for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Despite his poor batting form, coach Rahul Dravid believes that Rishabh can be one of the important players in the upcoming games for India.

“He remains an integral part of our batting line-up with the power he has and the fact that he is a left-hander is important to us in the middle overs. Personally, he would have liked to score a few more runs but it is not concerning him. Certainly, he is a very big part of our plans going ahead in the next few months,” said head coach Rahul Dravid in the post-match press conference after the fifth T20I against South Africa got cancelled.
