Earlier, in the third Super 8 encounter of the 2017 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in St Lucia on June 24, India lost the toss and scored 114/2 in just 10 overs against Australia. They then scored 205/5 in 20 overs and set a target of 206 runs for Australia to pursue.

In just 19 deliveries, Rohit achieved his second half-century of the tournament for India—a record he has held in T20 World Cups. With 41 balls, the Indian captain scored 92 runs.
Shivam Dube (28), Hardik Pandya (27*), and Suryakumar Yadav (31), on the other hand, made some significant runs.
Marcus Stoinis and Mitchell Starc each claimed two wickets for Australia, while Josh Hazlewood claimed one wicket.
When Rohit Sharma’s team plays Australia in their third Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup 2024, they will want to maintain their winning streak. In their most recent match, Australia lost shockingly to Afghanistan, while India easily trounced Bangladesh.
India, who will be attempting to win their third Super 8 match today, don’t have many concerns about their lineup. Against Bangladesh, openers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who had appeared out of sorts, appeared to be getting back into form.
India’s main strength in the competition thus far has been the batting of Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya. Middle-order batsman Shivam Dubey also scored some much-needed runs in the most recent encounter.
If Australia is to play their best cricket against India, however, they will need to move past their loss to Afghanistan as quickly as possible. The struggling Kangaroos may find some inspiration from their recent ICC record against India.
