As the first test match was forced to be drawn due to rain on the fifth day which abandons the play. But according to the match situation on Day 4 India had the upper hand as they had scored 157 runs with 9 wickets in hand. But England won the toss in the second test match which was being played at Lord’s. It was then followed up with captain Virat Kohli’s dismissal, who managed to score only 20 runs in the second innings.
Then a vital partnership between Rahane and Pujara put rescued India from a terrible collapse. But England had the doors open again once they dismissed both the set batsman in consecutive sessions. The all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja who so far looked very good in his batting in this series got out cheaply to Moeen Ali. Then it was up to Rishabh to post a good target for England in the second innings. But he along with Ishant Sharma who looked promising at the end of day 4 was dismissed early on day5.

It was a match-changing partnership between Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami for the 9th wicket. It was in the same tour in the first innings of the first test where the lower-order batsman contributed vital runs for India that put India in a very strong position in the context of the game. This is another remarkable performance from a lower-order batsman from India.
