India entered the final on the back of a commanding 33-21 semifinal win over Iran, while Chinese Taipei earned its spot with a 25-18 victory against hosts Bangladesh, setting up a high-pressure showdown.
Former India captain Ajay Thakur pointed out the team’s consistency and mentioned how the recently held Women’s Kabaddi World Cup 2025 showcased the growing international presence of Kabaddi as well, with Bangladesh hosting the event.

India put on an impressive performance while beating Thailand, Bangladesh, Germany, and Uganda throughout the group phase. This victory is their second major title this year after clinching the Asian Championships in March.
