IndyCar Series 2025: Your Ultimate Guide To The Event

IndyCar Series 2025 marks the 114th official championship season of American open-wheel racing and the 30th season under IndyCar sanction. The series will be filled with excitement as defending champions Alex Polou and Josef Newgarden make their return. 

IndyCar has also signed a new TV contract with Fox Sports after their previous contract with NBC Sports lapsed in 2024. This means the new season will be broadcast on the Fox broadcast network. Will Buxton will be the lead commentator as per the team’s recent announcement, while Townsend Bell and James Hinchcliffe will serve as analysts. 

The season will begin on 2 March in St. Petersburg, Florida with the Firestone Grand Prix. The season will conclude on 31 August 2025. So without keeping you for too long, let us take a look at the teams and drivers.

There are currently 12 confirmed teams running for the IndyCar Series including a new entrant, Prema Racing who will not receive charters but will compete for open spots in races outside Indy 500. 

The IndyCar Series 2025 season will debut four rookies, Robert Shwartzman, Louis Foster, Jacob Abel and Kyle Larsen.  The IndyCar Series will feature drivers from over 11 countries, with 33 drivers. Here is the full list of teams, engines and drivers.
