IPL 2021: CSK off to a flying start against RCB, 51/0 in Powerplay

Chennai Super Kings started their innings in style as they scored 51 runs without losing a single wicket

Chennai’s Captain MSD opted to bat first in the match against RCB and his opening batsmen proved his decision right as they scored 51 runs in the first six overs of powerplay. CSK top scorer of the season Faf Du Plessis scored 27 runs and his partner Rituraj Gaikwad contributed 22 in the first six overs.

Du Plessis continued his last match form where he scored 95 runs not out, he scored three fours and one six till the first six overs. Rituraj took a slow start but showed his class later on. In the last over of the powerplay, he found the gap on the side with 5 fielders placed. CSK  batsmen scored 14 runs from the last over of Navdeep Saini.

The first two overs looked good for RCB as Siraj and Jamieson got some swing on the ball. But after that Du Plessis sent the ball for fours and sixes and helped CSK to get a good start. It will be interesting to see when Harshal Patel will come to bowl as he has been the key for RCB  in the bowling unit.
