The batsman who scored the highest runs in the tournament during the season would carry the Orange Cap while fielding, with the overarching leading run-scorer at the end of the tournament receiving the actual Orange Cap award on the day of the season‘s main event. In the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League, Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler wore the Orange Cap (IPL). Jos Butler amassed 863 runs with four centuries and four half-centuries. His strike rate is also an astounding 149.05. Buttler outperformed Delhi Capitals batter David Warner’s 848-run total to rank as the second-highest player to score in an IPL season. In IPL 2022, he also hit four centuries and four half-centuries.
- Shaun Marsh (Kings XI Punjab)
Shaun Edward Marsh (born 9 July 1983) is an Australian cricketer who represents Australia in all three formats and performs for the Western Australia cricket team in Australian domestic cricket. SOS (“Son of Swampy”) is a left-handed top-order cricketer. Shaun Marsh of Australia won the first Orange Cap in the history of the T20 tournament after scoring 616 runs in the debut edition of the Indian Premier League.

In 2016, King Kohli had a fantastic Indian Premier League season. Kohli scored 973 runs, becoming the greatest run-scorer in a single edition of the Indian Premier League. With four centuries and seven half-centuries to his name, Kohli did manage to win the Orange Cap, but Royal Challengers Bangalore were defeated by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final by an eight-run margin.

Robin Venu Uthappa is a veteran Indian cricketer who last got to play for Kerala in domestic cricket and Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. Robin has played for India in ODIs and T20Is. Robin Uthappa batted brilliantly for Kolkata Knight Riders, scoring 660 runs in the 2014 Indian Premier League season to win the Orange Cap. Uthappa’s batting prowess aided the Kolkata-based franchise’s 2nd Indian Premier League title.

David Andrew Warner is a former Australian international cricketer who captained the Australian national team in limited overs and was a Test vice-captain. Warner, a left-handed opening batsman, was the first Australian cricketer in 132 years to be chosen for a national team in any format despite having no first-class expertise. The 2015 IPL season had been a fondly remembered adventure for the Australian opening batter. In the eighth season of the Indian Premier League, he managed to win his first Orange Cap. That season, Warner managed to score 562 runs.
