Kiradech secures DP World Tour Card; Schott emerges victorious; Gandas, Sandhu miss European Q-School Cut

Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat secured his DP World Tour card for the upcoming season with an impressive final round of 7-under 64 at the Qualifying School Final Stage held in Tarragona, Spain. His performance ensured a tied 14th finish, guaranteeing his spot among the top 25 and ties, granting him tour privileges for 2024.

Expressing his delight, Kiradech stated, “I’m thrilled to secure my DP World Tour card again. Today’s seven-under final round marks one of my best performances this season.”

Aphibarnrat, a four-time DP World Tour winner, had to revisit Qualifying School after losing his PGA TOUR card last year. Now, with a secured spot for the upcoming season, he’s eager to return to his winning ways.

However, it wasn’t a successful outing for India’s Manu Gandas and Yuvraj Sandhu, who missed the cut. Despite their previous achievements, including Gandas topping the Tata Steel PGTI Order of Merit, they couldn’t secure their tour cards.

Meanwhile, Freddy Schott claimed victory at the Final Stage of the European Q-School, finishing two strokes ahead with a stellar six-under-par round of 65. Schott’s win, along with other notable players like Filippo Celli and Tom Lewis, secured their DP World Tour cards for the 2024 season.

Kiradech, ending the week on an impressive note, highlighted his enjoyable experience playing alongside Sebastian Garcia and expressed gratitude for the support of his mother during the tournament.

Among the qualifiers for the DP World Tour 2024 season, players like Schott, Celli, Lewis, and others showcased their prowess, setting the stage for an exciting upcoming tour.
