Jurgen Klopp has advised his Liverpool players not to think about the Carabao Cup final next Sunday until they have dealt with Leeds in midweek. In a week’s time, they will have the opportunity to win their first silverware from the four tournaments in which they are still competing at Wembley Stadium, where Chelsea will be waiting.

Liverpool will have the opportunity to cut that even further when they play their game in hand on Wednesday, a rescheduled visit from Marcelo Bielsa’s side due to the Boxing Day delay.

A tenth consecutive victory in all competitions would put even more pressure on the leaders, and Klopp thinks that is where the focus must be. “We’ve never experienced that before, being in all four tournaments. “That’s really wonderful, and we love it,” he remarked. “May it last as long as possible since it means we’ll be able to play a lot more football games.” That is what we enjoy the most.
