After a five-week pause, Formula 1 returns with the first American stop of the season at the Miami Grand Prix. The fourth race of the 2026 calendar also brings the second sprint weekend, making it a packed few days for teams and fans.

The 2026 Formula 1 World Championship has been excellent so far with Mercedes proving they are the team to beat early on,  with wins in Australia from George Russell and back-to-back victories from Kimi Antonelli in China and Japan.

Kimi Antonelli has also become the youngest person ever to lead the championship in F1 history.

Ferrari has been competitive throughout the season with three podium finishes and McLaren showing signs of improvement after Oscar Piastri’s second place finish in Japan; however, defending champion Lando Norris has yet to find his pace.

In regards to Red Bull’s performance there have been several questions raised about their pace and whether Aston Martin can recover after a poor start to the year.

Where to Watch Live

In the UK, all sessions will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, with coverage available on Sky Sports F1 and Main Event. Highlights will also air on Channel 4 for viewers without a subscription.

In the United States, fans can stream every session live via Apple TV through its dedicated F1 channel.

Apart from all this, FIA has also extended the only practice session from 1 hour to 90 minutes for this weekend.

With teams coming off a long break and adjusting to recent regulation tweaks, the extra time is given to help drivers get up to speed quicker, especially with the sprint format limiting track sessions.

Track Focus: Miami International Autodrome

Miami’s International Autodrome is the site of the race, which features a 19-turn temporary street circuit located within the Hard Rock Stadium complex.

This unique combination of a street-circuit course and a stadium allows for an exciting racing venue that has grown into one of Florida’s premier events.

The Miami Grand Prix has attracted several high-profile celebrities and provided a uniquely balanced Miami atmosphere to each race held there.

New for this year’s event was the introduction of a yacht-style hospitality structure that provides an immersive viewing experience and overlooks Turns 5-9, replacing the previous “fake marina” structure.
