MS Dhoni's massive shoutout to Virat Kohli in rousing speech deciphers RCB superstar's batting style at CSK camp

Virat Kohli, a legendary batsman, has never been shy about gushing about his affection for former India captain MS Dhoni over the years. Former Indian captains Kohli and Dhoni were brothers at Team India and developed an unbreakable bond through their incredible cricket careers. While former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Kohli is the face of Indian cricket, the four-time IPL champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are led by Dhoni.

Dhoni, who goes by the moniker Thala among CSK supporters, only participates in the IPL now that he has retired from international cricket in 2020. While giving a stirring speech in the Super Kings dressing room during the 2023 IPL, CSK captain Dhoni, the oldest captain in IPL history, recently singled out Kohli. Recently, Mumbai Indians (MI) were defeated by former champions CSK in the second Clasico of the IPL 2023 on Saturday.

In the IPL 2023 at Chepauk, Dhoni’s CSK defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) while the Kohli-starring RCB lost to the Delhi Capitals (DC) on a doubleheader day. In an inspiring team talk at the Chennai Super Kings camp, CSK captain Dhoni can be seen giving Kohli a special mention in a viral video that was shared on Twitter.

At the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday, match number 49 of the IPL 2023 saw Dhoni’s CSK thrash Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians by six wickets. In recognition of his bowling prowess against MI, Matheesha Pathirana, who took three wickets and gave up 15 runs, was named Player of the Match.

Dhoni was all praise for his teammate Pathirana when discussing CSK’s victory over MI in the IPL Clasico. Pathirana was advised by the CSK captain to stay away from red-ball cricket. Personally, I don’t think he should play a lot of red-ball cricket, according to Dhoni. After an impressive victory over the Mumbai Indians, CSK, led by Dhoni, has clinched second place in the IPL 2023 points standings.
