Pakistan produced their second win at the U-23 South Asia Badminton Championships 2025, thrashing hosts Bhutan 5-0 in the team event on Sunday. Muhammad Adnan gave the lead with a ruthless 21-7, 21-5 victory over Ngawang Rigsel Jurmey in the men’s singles.
Rising star Ammarah Ishtiaq doubled the lead for Pakistan outdoing Kritty Gurung 21-4, 21-4 in the women’s singles.
The duo of Adnan and Raja Hassan Mujtaba registered another win for their country to clinch the men’s doubles, surpassing Avik Balampaki and Jurmey 21-16, 21-10.
In the women’s doubles, the pairing of Ammarah and Umama Usman did not disappoint as they outclassed Phuntsho Dema and Gurung 21-7, 21-7 in another straight-sets triumph.
The clean sweep was sealed in the mixed doubles, where Raja Hassan and Umama overcame Jurmey and Dema 21-11, 19-21, 21-11 to complete Pakistan’s 5-0 rout.
Earlier in the competition, Pakistan beat Nepal 3-2 before going down 5-0 to Sri Lanka.
Pakistan’s final standing on the podium will be determined after the Sri Lanka–Nepal match on Monday.
