He scored 5162 runs in 184 matches, including 3 centuries and 40 fifties. He played most of his career for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

3. Virat Kohli – 157 innings

Virat Kohli was the first batsman to score over 8000 runs in IPL. He reached 5000 runs in just 157 innings, and he is at number three.

KL Rahul is at the top of this list. He reached 5000 runs in just 130 innings, the fastest by any batsman in IPL.

He achieved this record in a match between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2025. In that game, he helped his team win by 8 wickets.

Rahul also won the Orange Cap in IPL 2020 when he played for Punjab Kings.
