Stanley Cup 2025: How Much Did Champions Florida Panthers Earn

The Florida Panthers won its second consecutive Stanley Cup title by edging past Edmonton Oilers in a repeat of last year’s final, winning 5-1 in Game 6. They seal a 4-2 series win.

Establishing themselves as one of the most dominant forces, it was the third straight season Florida had reached the summit clash, a run that coincides with the hiring of coach Paul Maurice.

Until five years ago, the Panthers made the NHL postseason only five times and advanced past the second round just once.

Florida’s decisive Game 6 performance was led by heroics from Sam Reinhart, who scored four goals, including two into an empty net late in the game after Edmonton made a desperate move to pull goaltender Stuart Skinner with seven minutes remaining.

“This is harder than the last time,” Sam Bennett, the Conn Smythe Trophy winner as playoff MVP, told TNT. “We just put in so much work. I’m just so proud of this group. There’s honestly 25 MVPs on this team. It’s the best feeling in the world.”

The NHL players do not receive their regular salaries during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, as standard pay concludes at the end of the 82-game regular season.

Instead, playoff compensation comes from a ‘playoff player fund’ established annually through the league’s Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

This fund is split among the 16 playoff teams based on performance, with teams progressing further into the postseason receiving a larger share of the bonus money. The system rewards success, meaning the further a team advances, the more they earn from the pool.
