T20 World Cup: South Africa register their 3rd win in a row as they beat Bangladesh by 6 Wickets

South Africa’s dominating bowling performance leads to Bangladesh’s batting collapse, as they finish at 84 All-Out. South Africa comfortably chase it down at the 2021 T20 World Cup.

The 30th Match of the 2021 T20 World Cup was a South Africa vs Bangladesh encounter played on Tuesday, 02 November 2021 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

This encounter is from Group 1 of the Super 12 round at the 2021 T20 World Cup. Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup due to a hamstring injury.

South Africa’s bowlers dominating performance led them to win by 6 wickets

1st Innings – Bangladesh puts 84 Runs on the board

Bangladesh had a struggling start, as they were three down by the end of the powerplay. As Mohammad Naim Sheikh, Soumya Sarkar and Mushfiqur Rahim were back in the pavilion, Kagiso Rabada picked all 3 Wickets. Bangladesh was 24/3 (5.3 overs).

But after that two wickets of Mahmudullah and Afif Hossain fall in quick succession, and Bangladesh was in great trouble. They were 34/5 in 8.1 overs.

Then another wicket falls, Liton Das got out due to an LBW decision as Tabraiz Shamsi took the wicket. Bangladesh was at 45/6 (11.3 overs).

However, it doesn’t get better for Bangladesh as they lost 4 Wickets and are All-Out at 84 (18.2overs). As Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje picked 3 Wickets each.

2nd Innings – South Africa’s Target is 85 Runs

Chasing a low total, South Africa were in a bit of trouble early on, as they lost 3 Wickets by the end of the powerplay. They were 33/3 in 5.5 overs.

Then, Rassie van der Dussen lost his wicket, and South Africa was 80/4 (12.6 overs).

However, Captain Temba Bavuma’s 31* (off 28 balls) and David Miller’s 5*(off 2) then guided South Africa to victory. South Africa finished their innings at 86/4 (13.3 overs).

As a result, South Africa won the match by 6 Wickets. Hence, the Player of the Match was awarded to Kagiso Rabada for his bowling spell of 3/20.
