On Monday, 01 November 2021 it has been announced that Portuguese football manager Nuno Espírito Santo was relieved from his duties of being the head coach of Tottenham Hotspur F.C. after just 4 months in charge.

However, this announcement comes after Saturday’s 3-0 home defeat to Manchester United. The 47-year-old, Nuno Espírito Santo was appointed on 30 June 2021 as a new head coach on a two-year contract.

An announcement was made on Tottenham Hotspur’s Official Website delivering this news. It confirmed that Nuno Espírito Santo and his coaching staff Ian Cathro, Rui Barbosa and Antonio Dias have been relieved of their duties.

Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici said, “I know how much Nuno and his coaching staff wanted to succeed and I regret that we have had to take this decision.”

“Nuno is a true gentleman and will always be welcome here. We should like to thank him and his coaching staff and wish them well for the future,” Fabio Paratici further added.

Tottenham Hotspur also added that “a further coaching update will follow in due course.”

On his arrival, Tottenham Hotspur F.C. did have a good start to the 2021–22 Premier League winning three matches but it didn’t stay that way for too long. As out of the 10 Premier League matches, Tottenham Hotspur had a win-loss record of 5-5.

Rumors are now swirling around, in regards to, who will be the new manager of the team. Most signs are pointing to former Chelsea and Italy manager Antonio Conte. The Italian manager had won the Premier League with the Blues in 2017 and a FA Cup in 2018.

Meanwhile, Spurs are 8th in the Premier League Points Table. Nuno Espírito Santo was also in charge of Spurs for 7 matches outside of the Premier League, where they won 4, lost 2 and drawn 1.
