WPL 2025: Ira Jadhav Unsold Despite Impressive Performances

WPL 2025: During the Women’s Premier League 2025 mini-auction, young talent Ira Jadhav, despite her stormy batting and immense potential, failed to find a buyer. The 14-year-old entered the auction with a base price of 10 lakh, but no team showed interest in her during the bidding process.

Her exclusion from the list has caused much debate, especially in light of her explosive performances in domestic cricket. Ira’s journey is one of great promise, and her exclusion from the auction has surprised many who had expected her to be picked up by one of the franchises.

Ira started playing cricket at a very young age in her hometown of Pune. She began playing cricket at the age of 8 and played at a local club behind her society before moving to Mumbai in June 2022 to further advance her career.

Presently, she is captain of the Mumbai Under-15 team and has also gone into the limelight in the Under-19 team. Ira’s presence on the ground had already captured the imagination of coaches as well as her peers though she was much younger to all. Coaching and Training: Kalpana Murkar and Vaidik Murkar

Ira’s cricketing skills have been honed under the tutelage of seasoned coaches, but most importantly by Kalpana Murkar, who taught her the basics of the game. Currently, Vaidik Murkar, Kalpana’s son, is handling Ira’s training. Vaidik has fine-tuned her batting style and made her a much more consistent player at the crease.

Besides her coach, Ira’s father, Sachin Jadhav, has been a great influence in her cricketing career. Sachin, who has always supported Ira’s ambitions, works hard to ensure that his daughter gets the best facilities and guidance as she continues to pursue her dreams of becoming a professional cricketer.

Although Ira Jadhav remains unsold in the WPL 2025 auction, her journey certainly is not over. This cricketer is only 14 years old. She has ample scope and time to develop herself with her game and come onto the bigger stage, too. Ira Jadhav’s performance at home cricket, especially while facing the bat, definitely is something that has caught the eyes of many. With continued hard work, the right exposure, and a few more spectacular performances, she could soon make her mark in women’s cricket.

For now, her focus will be on honing her skills further and continuing to lead the Mumbai Under-15 and Under-19 teams. Although Ira Jadhav being left out of the WPL 2025 auction was one of the worst moments in her young career, it should not undermine the huge talent she carries. The way she batted and led the side and was committed to her game for improvement makes her a player to watch in the future.
