The recent scandal involving the Indian show India’s Got Latent has gained more intensity, roping in WWE wrestler Saurav Gurjar, who has now openly threatened the show judge and YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia. The controversy started when Allahbadia went on a rant making some objectionable remarks against parents on one of his podcast episodes, inviting ire from the viewers and inciting general outrage. With the situation becoming increasingly intense, the addition of Gurjar to the fray has fanned the flames even more.
The Origins of the Controversy

The India’s Got Latent scandal broke out when Ranveer Allahbadia made controversial remarks regarding parents on an episode of the India’s Got Latent show, presented by comedian Samay Raina. Allahbadia, who is famous for his candid and uncompromising views, expressed himself in a way that was considered offensive by many.
His remarks soon went viral, triggering public outrage. Most people in India were outraged, accusing Allahbadia of downplaying the value of family and disrespecting parents.
A number of complaints were made against the YouTuber, and the matter caught the eye of a parliamentary committee, which sought a report from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, also jumped into the fray, underlining the importance of responsible statements in public discourse.
Saurav Gurjar Enters the Fray

As the controversy continued to spiral, former WWE wrestler Saurav Gurjar, who wrestled under the ring name Sanga, added his voice to the mounting debate. Gurjar, a tall and fierce competitor in the ring, posted a video on social media, where he vented his outrage over Allahbadia’s comments.
In the video, Gurjar openly threatened Ranveer Allahbadia that if they were to encounter each other in Mumbai, Allahbadia’s security would not be enough to save him. Gurjar stated, “I am very angry.”. I try not to say these things but if I ever encounter Ranveer Allahbadia at a party or function in Mumbai, even his bodyguards won’t be able to save him and neither will any authority in the world.
We should take legal recourse against individuals who are attempting to bring down our society with such remarks. If we don’t take action now, more individuals will follow his path.”
Gurjar’s sharp words created shockwaves, particularly given his past as a WWE star and his position as a high-profile figure in the Indian entertainment world. The remark added fuel to the already raging debate over the controversy.
Saurav Gurjar: WWE to Bollywood
Saurav Gurjar, 6 feet 8 inches and approximately 300 pounds, rose to fame as a WWE wrestler in the NXT brand, where he was part of a powerful tag team with Veer Mahan, named Indus Sher. The pair enthralled fans with their brute strength and intimidating ring presence. But Gurjar was let go by WWE in 2023.
Aside from his professional wrestling career, Gurjar has also established himself in Indian television and film. He portrayed the character of Bhima in the iconic Indian television series Mahabharat and also appeared in the Bollywood movie Brahmastra, which further cemented his status as a major figure in Indian entertainment.
Increasing Public Anger

The outrage that has followed Allahbadia’s remarks and Gurjar’s retaliatory remark has only served to increase public indignation. Numerous people have demanded strict legal action against those who utter such comments, while others have defended Allahbadia on the grounds that free speech should be preserved. As the controversy rages on, the question remains if legal action will be initiated against the YouTuber and if Gurjar’s inflammatory remarks will serve to complicate matters further.
Meanwhile, India’s Got Latent remains at the core of this firestorm, and the producers of the show are almost certainly coming under increasing pressure to act. As the debate progresses, it is unclear whether additional public figures will enter the discussion and what this controversy will ultimately conclude.
