The IPL 2025 Auction, held in Saudi Arabia on November 25, saw teams splurge to secure the best cricketing talent from across the world. With this being a mega auction, franchises made big bids for star players, and some cricketing stars saw massive salary jumps.
Here, we list five players who achieved the biggest pay hikes in the IPL 2025 auction
5. Rishabh Pant: From ₹16 Crore to ₹27 Crore

Rishabh Pant was a key player for Delhi Capitals (DC) for years, retained at ₹16 crore since IPL 2022. However, Pant entered the auction pool in 2025, and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) broke the bank to sign him for ₹27 crore, outbidding DC’s Right-to-Match (RTM) attempt. This move gave Pant a pay hike of ₹11 crore.
4. Yuzvendra Chahal: From ₹6.5 Crore to ₹18 Crore

India’s experienced legspinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been with Rajasthan Royals (RR) since 2022, earning ₹6.5 crore per season. At the 2025 auction, Punjab Kings (PBKS) won a bidding war to grab Chahal for ₹18 crore. The spinner’s salary jumped by ₹11.5 crore.
3. Shreyas Iyer: From ₹12.25 Crore to ₹26.75 Crore

Shreyas Iyer, Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) title-winning captain, decided to test the waters at the mega auction instead of staying with his team. This gamble paid off as Punjab Kings (PBKS) signed him for ₹26.75 crore, a dramatic increase of ₹14.5 crore compared to his previous salary of ₹12.25 crore.
2. Venkatesh Iyer: From ₹8 Crore to ₹23.75 Crore

Venkatesh Iyer emerged as the biggest winner of IPL Auction 2025. KKR had retained him for ₹8 crore in earlier seasons, but they let him enter the auction this year. After a fierce bidding war, KKR themselves secured him for ₹23.75 crore. This resulted in a whopping ₹15.75 crore hike, the highest of this auction.
1. Jitesh Sharma: From ₹20 Lakh to ₹11 Crore

Jitesh Sharma, once an uncapped player, joined Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL 2022 at his base price of ₹20 lakh. Over the years, his performances improved significantly, even earning him a spot in the Indian team and captaincy for PBKS.
At the 2025 auction, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) outbid others to secure Jitesh for ₹11 crore. His salary saw a stunning rise of ₹10.8 crore.
