After joining Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Indian fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar wrote an emotional goodbye message to his previous team, Sunrisers Hyderabad. RCB spent a lot of money to sign the experienced bowler during the IPL 2025 mega-auction.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is one of the most loved Indian bowlers. Bhuvneshwar Kumar made his IPL debut in 2011 and has since played 176 matches, taking 181 wickets. Known for his powerplay expertise, Bhuvneshwar has taken 181 wickets in 176 IPL matches since his debut in 2011. He is a two-time Purple Cap winner in the Indian Premier League. In the 2024 season, the 34-year-old featured in 16 matches and claimed 11 wickets.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar Shared An Emotional Post For SRH
Taking to his official social media account, Bhuvneshwar Kumar penned a heartfelt note, expressing that after spending ‘incredible’ 11-years with the Hyderabad-based franchise, it is time for him to say goodbye to them. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also praised the fans and said that their support has been constant to the team. Taking to X, Bhuvi wrote:
“After 11 incredible years with SRH, I say goodbye to this team. I have so many unforgettable and cherishable memories. Amazing victories, winning the title, getting the purple cap twice and lot more. One thing unmissable is the love of the fans which has been splendid! Your support has been constant. Thankyou orange army for shaping me into who I am today. I will carry this love and support with me forever,” Bhuvneshwar Kumar wrote on X.

The Intense Bidding War at the IPL 2025 Auction
During the IPL 2025 mega-auction, Bhuvneshwar Kumar became the center of an intense bidding war. tarting at a base price of Rs 2 crore, his value soared as Mumbai Indians (MI) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fought it out. LSG pushed the bid to Rs 10 crore. MI dropped out at Rs 10.25 crore, and just when it seemed LSG would win at Rs 10.5 crore, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) made a final bid of Rs 10.75 crore to secure him.
This marked a major milestone for the veteran pacer, whose salary jumped 156% from his previous Rs 4.2 crore deal with SRH.
