Indian cricket star and Royal Challengers Bengaluru player, Virat Kohli, danced to the popular song Jhoome Jo Pathaan from the Bollywood movie Pathaan at the opening ceremony of IPL 2025 on Saturday, March 22. He performed with the movie’s lead actor and the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders.

A Memorable Moment: SRK and Virat Kohli Groove to ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’

SRK and Virat Kohli, the two giants of their respective industries teamed up and danced together at the event in Kolkata before the IPL 2025 tournament opener between KKR and RCB. After dancing to the song, they also shared a warm hug.

KKR and RCB are set to face off at KKR’s home ground to kick off IPL 2025. This will be the second time these two teams have met in an IPL opener, with the first encounter taking place in the inaugural season of the tournament in 2008. In that match, the SRK-owned franchise dominated RCB with a massive 140-run victory at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Since then, 18 seasons have passed. KKR has won three IPL titles, while RCB is still searching for their first. KKR triumphed in IPL 2024, defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final to cap off a dominant campaign in style. On the other hand, RCB had an inspiring second half of the season, edging out Chennai Super Kings for a fourth-place finish. However, they fell short in the Eliminator.

The two teams are being led by Ajinkya Rahane and Rajat Patidar. This will be the first time Rahane and Patidar captain KKR and RCB, respectively. Patidar has been with RCB for three seasons, while Rahane is returning for his second season with KKR after not being retained following the 2022 edition.
