CSK vs MI, IPL 2025:Ruturaj Gaikwad-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will face Suryakumar Yadav-led Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match No. 3 of the 2025 Indian Premier League at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday.
MI’s captain, Hardik Pandya, will not be playing in this match. After MI’s exit from the group stage last year, Pandya was banned due to a slow-over rate offense in the game against Lucknow Super Giants. This was the third instance in 14 games where MI had failed to maintain the required over-rates, leading to the skipper’s suspension.
Pandya commented, “I will have to miss the game with my teammate and India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav taking over the reins at Chepauk. Surya will be the ideal choice when I am not there.”

Thunderstorms are expected in Chennai on the match day, but they are likely to clear before the game begins. Although there is a slight chance of a delayed start due to a wet outfield, a complete washout is unlikely. The match is expected to proceed with temperatures around 30°C.
